Bowel Screening Saves Lives – Community Conversations at Westfield Marion.
Bowel Screening saves lives.
And the conversations we had today at Westfield Marion will save lives.
Thanks to a grant from the Westfield Local Heroes program, today we’ve been able to hand out free bowel screening kits to people under the age of 45, who aren’t yet eligible for a free bowel screening kit under the Australian Government’s National Bowel Cancer Screening Program.
We had so many important conversations today, with people who have been impacted by bowel cancer themselves or have a friend or loved one who has been impacted.
It was great to also chat with people who were interested in learning more about bowel cancer prevention and early detection.
We also spoke with people aged 45-74 and encouraged them to order their first bowel screening kit (45-49 year olds), or to re-order or complete their free bowel screening kit from the Australian government.
Thank you to all who stopped by to chat with us about symptoms, screening or their family history of bowel cancer.
A heartfelt thank you to the team at Westfield Marion for the support and to the Westfield Marion community for recognising Jodi Lee Bowel Cancer Foundation Ambassador Sophie Edwards s your 2025 Westfield Marion Local Hero, and for awarding the Foundation a 2025 Westfield Local Heroes grant to raise awareness in the community.
Thank you also to our friends at Sorbent for donating individually wrapped toilet rolls for us to hand out and help spark these important conversations.
Your support helps us continue raising awareness of bowel cancer prevention and early detection and makes initiatives like this possible.
