The power of giving – the inaugural SA Giving Week.
From 4–8 May, South Australia held its very first SA Giving Week – a powerful initiative that shone a light on the extraordinary impact of generosity and what’s possible when individuals, communities and organisations unite around a shared purpose.
At its heart, SA Giving Week reinforced a simple but important truth: every act of giving matters. Whether large or small, each contribution plays a role in strengthening our communities and helping to build a brighter future for generations to come.
One of the most meaningful messages to emerge from the week is that giving isn’t limited to financial contributions. Giving can take many forms – your time, your skills, your services, or your connections. And often, these gifts can be just as powerful.
The generosity of time is one of the most impactful ways people support our work. Whether it’s an hour, a day, or ongoing involvement, giving your time can have a profound and lasting effect on the people and causes that need it most.
We are incredibly grateful to the many people who give their time to support our mission. From our dedicated volunteers and committed Board Members to the businesses and suppliers who generously donate their time and services across our events, activations and awareness campaigns.
Their collective contribution enables us to extend our reach, amplify our message, and ultimately save lives through increased awareness around the prevention and early detection of bowel cancer.
SA Giving Week has been a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together with purpose and generosity.
We extend our sincere congratulations to Kay Burton, Sophie Doyle, the Advisory Committee, and all supporting organisations and sponsors for creating such an inspiring platform to strengthen South Australia’s culture of giving.
Together, through every act of generosity, we are creating lasting impact.
