Act on symptoms.
Today is a reminder to listen to your body, take symptoms seriously and to act early on them.
Today is World Ovarian Cancer Day, and as a bowel cancer charity, we want to highlight something important:
Some of the symptoms of ovarian cancer can overlap with bowel cancer symptoms, which is why it’s so important not to ignore persistent changes, including:
– Abdominal bloating
– Abdominal or pelvic pain
– Changes in bowel habits (such as constipation or diarrhoea)
– Feeling full quickly or loss of appetite
– Unexplained weight loss
– Unexplained fatigue
These symptoms don’t automatically mean cancer, but if they’re new, persistent, or not normal for you, don’t ignore them.
You know your body better than anyone else, if something doesn’t feel right to you, please trust your gut and speak with your doctor.
