We were honoured that Jodi Lee Foundation Ambassador Graeme Goodings was invited to speak recently at Langton Park Retirement Community.
Graeme shared his deeply personal story of being diagnosed with bowel cancer in his 50s, which began with a visit to the emergency department for chest pains. While those pains turned out to be a gastric disturbance, it was a curious and cautious intern who asked, “Do you mind if I run a few more tests?” – a decision that ultimately led to life-saving early detection.
Graeme also treated the audience to stories from his decades-long career in TV and radio, reflecting on the early days before colour TV, and sharing the highs and lows of life in the media spotlight.
His warmth, humour, and honesty continue to inspire and remind us just how important awareness and early action can be.
Thank you, Graeme, for your incredible advocacy and for sharing your story so generously.
Thank you to Langton Park for having us and to the community for raising over $1,300 for the Jodi Lee Foundation with their raffle.
