Today, on World Cancer Day, we stand united in the fight against cancer.

Jodi Lee Foundation CEO, Rachel McKay and Partnerships Manager, Steve Harrison attended the ‘Uniting Against Cancer: Fostering Statewide Collaboration in Cancer Research’ symposium, hosted by Cancer Council SA, where people came together to share information and experiences to advance cancer research and care in South Australia.

Jodi Lee Foundation ambassadors, Kellie Finlayson and Sophie Edwards were keynote speakers, courageously sharing their unique patient experiences and shedding light on the strength and resilience it takes to face such challenges.

This year’s World Cancer Day theme, ‘United by Unique’, places people at the centre of care and their stories at the heart of the conversation.

Cancer is more than a medical diagnosis – it’s a deeply personal matter. Every experience with cancer is unique, and it will take all of us, united, to create a world where we look beyond the disease and see the person before the patient.

Together, we can come together to re-write the future of cancer care – one where the needs of people and communities come first.
