Today, on this International Women’s Day, we congratulate and shine a light on Kellie Finlayson who was the recipient of The Advertiser Foundation Inspiration Award at their International Women’s Day Awards on Monday night.

Kellie received the recognition for the inspiration she continues to provide for cancer sufferers, and the awareness she is raising for bowel cancer and its impact on younger Australians.

Kellie was diagnosed with bowel cancer at 25 years of age, just three-and-a-half months after her daughter Sophia was born and is now fighting her second bout of bowel cancer, after it was discovered late last year, spread to her lungs.

Last week Kellie married Port Adelaide AFL star Jeremy Finlayson in a surprise wedding brought forward from its original October date.

Kellie, you are a truly inspiring woman.
