We’re thrilled to welcome Dale Sweeney, State Director of Schiavello Construction, as an official Jodi Lee Bowel Cancer Foundation Ambassador.
Dale has been a passionate supporter of the Foundation for over seven years, leading impactful corporate partnerships and championing bowel cancer awareness within the commercial construction industry.
Once a year, Schiavello Construction arranges free bowel screening tests for staff, recognising that many team members fall within the common demographic for this disease. In one instance, a team member’s test returned a positive result, and thankfully, the cancer was detected early enough to be effectively treated and managed.
This life-saving moment- and witnessing its impact on the wellbeing of employees and their families – inspired Dale to expand the JLF Workplace Program to project partners and clients, amplifying its reach and impact. This expansion led to another early detection of bowel cancer, ultimately saving that person’s life.
Dale continues to support the Jodi Lee Foundation with numerous Schiavello Construction charity partnerships and fundraising initiatives. From fundraising to education, Dale continues to go above and beyond. He recently ‘went bald for cause’, shaving his head to support the Jodi Lee Foundation, raising an incredible $21,767 to support our mission.
Today, the Jodi Lee Foundation is an integral part of Schiavello’s Health and Wellbeing Program, which also includes the Healthy Minds Wellbeing Workshop with Jodi Lee Foundation Founder & Chair, Nick Lee OAM. This education and training initiative has become a key focus for Schiavello in supporting their team’s mental and physical health.
Thank you, Dale, for your unwavering commitment to saving lives and raising awareness. We know you’ll continue to make a powerful impact in your role as a Jodi Lee Foundation Ambassador, and we’re proud to have you on board.
