Well done to Fraser Coast Chronicle journalist, Stephanie Kay, whose powerful first hand account of lifesaving bowel cancer surgery has seen her nominated for this year’s Clarion Awards.

This moving, personal story, was written and published in 2012, when Stephanie Kay underwent surgery at the age of 21 to remove her bowel, after 72 precancerous polyps were discovered.

Her persistence in seeking medical attention after experiencing stomach pain, bloating and changed bowel habits, was life changing.

Stephanie’s article is both personal and educational, and mentions Jodi’s story and comments from Nick Lee.

The Clarion Award winners will be announced on 31 August 2014 in Brisbane. Good luck Stephanie and thanks for helping us raise awareness of bowel cancer.
