Are you eligible for a free bowel screening test?

Did you know you’re eligible for a free bowel screening test from age 45?

Aged 45 to 49:
You’re eligible to receive your first free bowel screening kit through the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program, however you’ll need to opt-in to receive yours. Request your free kit at ncsr.gov.au/boweltest or call 1800 627 701.

Aged 50 to 74:
You’ll continue to automatically receive a free kit in the mail every two years.

Outside of 45-74, and not eligible for a free test?
You can still take control of your health. Purchase a kit for $45 via our website:
jodileefoundation.org.au/bowel-screening or at selected pharmacies.

Why take the test?
Bowel screening is a simple, non-invasive test you can do in the comfort of your own home. It’s not a test for cancer, but the test can detect traces of blood in your stool, which may be an early sign of polyps or bowel cancer.

Early detection saves lives.
Taking the test every two years dramatically increases your chances of early detection, which is the key to successful prevention and treatment.

Lost your Australian Government issued kit?
Call 1800 627 701 or visit the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program website at ncsr.gov.au/boweltest to request a replacement.

Please speak with your doctor if you experience any symptoms, regardless of your age or bowel screening results.
