Delivering our Workplace Education Program to Brentnalls SA.
We recently presented our Workplace Education Program at Brentnalls SA.
Jodi Lee Bowel Cancer Foundation Founder and Chair, Nick Lee OAM, spoke with 65 staff members (53 in person and 12 online) about the practical steps we can all take to help prevent bowel cancer and detect it early.
During the session, employees aged 45 and over were encouraged to complete the free National Bowel Cancer Screening Program test kit, highlighting the important role this simple at-home test plays in saving lives.
Staff of all ages were also encouraged to understand the symptoms of bowel cancer and to act quickly if symptoms arise by speaking with their GP and advocating for answers.
The short presentation provided an opportunity for staff to learn more about bowel cancer prevention, risk factors, symptoms and screening, while creating space for meaningful discussion and questions about a disease that affects so many Australian families.
We shared the active steps everyone can take to B.E.A.T. bowel cancer:
✅ Be active and healthy
✅ Explore your family history
✅ Act on symptoms
✅ Take the bowel screening test
The session also reinforced why awareness matters. Bowel cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, and when detected early, up to 99% of cases can be successfully treated.
Every conversation helps break down stigma, increase awareness and encourage action. By bringing these important discussions into the workplace, organisations can play a valuable role in supporting the health and wellbeing of their people.
We are incredibly grateful to Brentnalls SA for their commitment to the health of their team and for helping us share these potentially life-saving messages. Together, we can continue to encourage early detection and work towards a future where fewer families are impacted by bowel cancer.
