John Longmore is the former coach of the Sydney Swans (2011 to 2024). As a player, he represented the North Melbourne Football Club from 1988 to 1999.

John’s mother was diagnosed with bowel cancer at age 58. She fought hard but sadly passed away in 2012 at age 63.

If they had their time again, John would have had a conversation around the dinner table with the family to break down the myths around screening and normalise doing the test.

John urges all families to have a conversation about bowel screening and when the kit from the NBCSP arrives in the mail when you turn 50, to make sure you do it!
