AMBASSADOR
Dayne Beams / AFL Player

A star recruit at the Brisbane Lions Football Club, midfielder Dayne Beams is known for his skills around the pack.

He was traded to the Lions from Collingwood in 2014, a move that brought him back to his home state of Queensland and closer to his family. Dayne headed back to Collingwood in 2019 after the passing of Beams Senior in March 2018 at just 56 years old. Sadly, Dayne and Claye’s Dad had bowel cancer and he lost his battle. Their father had been “throwing out” the free screening kits that had been sent to him and by the time he was diagnosed with the disease, the tumour had all but blocked his bowel.

Both Dayne and Claye urge everyone to take the free screening test when it comes in the mail from 50 and every two years after that.
