Breakfast with the Legends – Darwin.

What a fantastic morning in at our Darwin breakfast!

Cricket legends Merv Hughes and Jason “Dizzy” Gillespie joined Jodi Lee Bowel Cancer Foundation ambassador and professional cricketer Wes Agar for our unforgettable ‘Breakfast with the Legends’ event, sharing plenty of stories, laughs and insights before the International Test Match action got underway today.

Together with our guests, we raised vital funds and awareness for bowel cancer prevention and early detection, helping support our mission to save lives.

As the sun rose over the Darwin Waterfront, guests gathered at Wharf One Food & Wine for a memorable morning of cricket, conversation and connection, with some spectacular golden morning light setting the scene.

Special thanks to our event host, Jodi Lee Bowel Cancer Foundation Ambassador and sports presenter Max Burford (10 News & Sports Tonight), for keeping the conversation flowing, and to our wonderful sponsors Wharf One, KWP + Partners and Paracombe Wines for helping make the morning possible.

A special thank you also to Max and Wes for sharing their personal family connections to bowel cancer and speaking so openly about why supporting the Foundation as ambassadors is so important to them. Their stories were a powerful reminder of the impact bowel cancer has on families and why raising awareness and encouraging early detection matters.

Thank you, Darwin, for your incredible support. We can’t wait to be back with more events, more inspiring conversations and more opportunities to make a difference together.

It was especially meaningful to have three of our ambassadors with us on the day, Merv Hughes, Wes Agar and Max Burford. Our ambassadors play a vital role in helping us share lifesaving bowel cancer prevention and early detection messages, using their voices, platforms and personal stories to start important conversations, break down stigma and encourage Australians to take action for their health.

We’re incredibly proud to have such a passionate team standing alongside our mission: Wes Agar, Max Burford, Themis Chryssidis, John Clements, Danni Duncan, Sophie Edwards, Kellie Finlayson, Kelly Golding, Graeme Goodings, Shelly Horton, Merv Hughes, Charlotte Lasica, John Longmire, Dahlia Matkovic, Brenton Ragless, Dr Michela Sorensen, Jessica Stenson, Dale Sweeney, Steve Testar, Jasmin Teurlings, Tory Toogood, Hugo Toovey, Yvonne Tozzi, James Trenerry and Gavin Wanganeen. What a team.
