26 February 2025

After the success of our inaugural event in 2024, on Wednesday 19 February, we held our second Jodi Lee Foundation International Women’s Day Luncheon, featuring special guest and keynote speaker Lisa Curry AO.

More than 300 people packed into the Ian McLachlan Room at Adelaide Oval, to support the Foundation, and to recognise International Women’s Day and the amazing women who support us in our fight to prevent bowel cancer.

Our panel session featured JLF ambassadors Sophie Edwards and Kelly Golding, who, in conversation with Jodi Lee Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Rachel McKay, vulnerably shared their stories of personal challenges they had faced and overcome – Kelly tragically losing her brother in a road accident, and Sophie’s bowel cancer diagnosis, treatment and the collateral damage she now lives with. They both shared so openly and left us all truly inspired with how they now view life and prioritise themselves and those around them.

Belinda Heggen, founder of Fluent Media, interviewed our special guest speaker, Lisa Curry AO. Lisa had the entire room hanging on her every word. She shared so openly about her life – her work ethic as an elite athlete, goal setting, triumphs, challenges and heartbreak. Everyone left inspired and in awe of Lisa’s determination and positivity. Thank you for being so open with us Lisa.

We closed the day, hearing from Jodi Lee Foundation Ambassador, Kellie Finlayson who shared her story. Kellie also highlighted the important work of the Foundation in helping raise awareness of bowel cancer signs and symptoms everyone should be aware of – regardless of their age.

The day would not have been possible without our wonderful major sponsors KWPX, SALIFE and Adelaide Oval.
