We met Dennis, a local fencing operator in the town of Moree, New South Wales, whilst on our Talking Sh!t Tour.

Dennis has been proudly doing the free bowel cancer screening test when it arrives in the mail every two years from the Australian Government.

Recently one of his tests came back positive – they had found blood in his stool. So Dennis visited the GP and booked in for a colonoscopy where they removed a pre-cancerous polyp.

Three months later Dennis had another colonoscopy and they removed another polyp.

The GP told Dennis that if he hadn’t done his bowel screening test, these polyps would have developed into bowel cancer down the track.

Dennis classifies himself as very lucky, and believes the bowel screening kit is a no-brainer to complete every two years because it can save your life, like it has for Dennis.
