Andrew has worked in the recruitment industry for the past 25 years. He was a founder and owner of a banking & finance recruitment firm, GOW Recruitment for much of that time. His passion lies in wellbeing, recently setting out on a new endeavour to assist the corporate and education sectors in educating and developing systems that enable preventative wellbeing and mental health initiatives.
Andrew’s mother passed away from bowel cancer in 2008, three years after initially being diagnosed. His father also had bowel cancer, though fortunately went into full remission and survived. Given the family history, early screening was a natural step for Andrew. At the age of 35 he had two polyps removed, and over the next 7 years had another three removed. Early detection has certainly played a critical role in his life since 2005. Knowing the risks and nature of bowel cancer, helping raise awareness through the Jodi Lee Bowel Cancer Foundation is a cause close to home.
