RICHARD ERNSTER

Richard Ernster, also known as ‘The Kilt Auctioneer’ founded his company, Helping Hand Group in 1997.

Helping Hand Group assists charities with their auctions and fundraising, mainly at events such as gala dinners, balls, sportsman’s lunches and golf days. Since its establishment, Helping Hand Group has raised over $115,000,000 and counting.

Sadly Richard’s dear father, Robert Ernster lost his own brave fight to bowel cancer in 2011. He was just 64.

“I have tried to find a way to help fight this terrible disease, and in 2018, that way was found through my connection with the Jodi Lee Bowel Cancer Foundation. I am a proud National Advisory Board member and have helped support fundraising events for the Jodi Lee Bowel Cancer Foundation in Sydney and Adelaide. I love the work that Nick and his mighty team put in. I stand at the ready to assist however I can.”

Richard’s passion for raising charities was recognised, when at the age of 26, he was selected as an official Sydney Olympic Games Torch Relay runner, for his work in helping charities.

“I love what I do, and I live for helping others – raising funds for charity is in my blood.”
