Since 2015 Paddy Ryder has played with Port Adelaide Football Club. He is a gun ruckman who was awarded Port Adelaide’s Best & Fairest in 2017.

Paddy’s understands more than most, how close the degrees of separation between knowing someone with bowel cancer can be. His father-in-law Gary passed away from the disease aged 61 in 2012 when their daughter Liliana was only 2.

Sadly, the diagnosis was too late and the cancer had already mestasized. Gary’s symptoms of a sore stomach and bowel movement issues were ignored. Taking the simple and free bowel cancer screening test when it arrives from the Government could have made the outcome quite different.
